It has been a busy few weeks, pre-holiday buzz I hope...
Anyway, I am watching the Formula One (F1) trial race on TV right now while I blog. Ok, not so much watching than listening...coz it gets rather boring after watching a few rounds of the cars going round and round. Gosh, those race cars looks like TOYS! Haha..Plastic looking and all...
I know I should be really excited abt my upcoming trip to Hongkong but strangely, I am just looking forward to the break. Need some time away from the tiring work. And maybe if I am lucky, I may be able to see some fireworks on my first day to Hongkong...hmm...well, we shall see...will TRY to take more pics.
Sidetrack...I did some interesting recording. Trying to understand how much time I spend looking at "boxes" (as in TV, Computers, PSP...anything with a square screen), I decided to note down the number of hours I look at these "boxes" in a week.

THE SIZE OF HELLHELL EXPLAINED BY CHEMISTRY STUDENT
The following is an actual question given on a Washington State University chemistry mid-term.
The answer by one student was so 'profound' that the professor shared it with colleagues, via the Internet, which is, of course, why we now have the pleasure of enjoying it as well :
Bonus Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)?
Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's Law (gas cools when it expands and heats when it is compressed) or some variant.
One student, however, wrote the following:
"First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we need to know the rate at which souls are moving into Hell and the rate at which they are leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for how many souls are entering Hell, let's look at the different religions that exist in the world today. Most of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell. Since there is more than one of these religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell.
With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase exponentially. Now, we look at the Rate of change of the volume in Hell because Boyle's Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the volume of Hell has to expand proportionately as souls are added. This gives two possibilities:
1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell breaks loose.
2. If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over.
So which is it?
If we accept the postulate given to me by Teresa during my Freshman year that, 'It will be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with you,' and take into account the fact that I slept with her last night, then number two must be true, AND thus I am sure that Hell is exothermic and has already frozen over. The corollary of this theory is that since Hell has frozen over, it follows that it is not accepting any more souls and is therefore, extinct......leaving only Heaven, thereby proving the existence of a divine being which explains why, last night, Teresa kept shouting 'Oh my God.' "

THE HUSBAND STORE
A store that sells husbands has just opened in New York City, where a woman may go to choose a husband.
Among the instructions at the entrance is a description of how the store operates:
You may visit the store ONLY ONCE! You may choose any man from a particular floor, or you may choose to go up a floor, but you cannot go back down except to exit the Building!
So, a woman goes to the Husband Store to find a husband.
On the first floor the sign on the door reads:
"Floor 1 - These men have jobs and love the Lord"
'I wonder what is on the next floor' she goes to the second floor and the sign reads:
"Floor 2 - These men have jobs, love the Lord, and love kids."
'Maybe the next floor will be better' she continued up to the third floor and the sign reads:
"Floor 3 - These men have jobs, love the Lord, love kids, and are extremely good looking"
'Wow,' she thinks, but feels compelled to keep going. She goes to the fourth floor and the sign reads:
"Floor 4 - These men have jobs, love the Lord, love kids, are drop dead good looking and help with the housework."
'Oh, mercy me!' she exclaims, 'I can hardly stand it!' Still, she goes to the fifth floor and the sign reads:
"Floor 5 - These men have jobs, love theLord, love kids, are drop- dead gorgeous, help with the housework and have a strong romantic streak."
She is so tempted to stay, but she goes to the sixth floor and the sign reads:
"Floor 6 - You are visitor 5,363,012 to this floor. There are no men on this floor. This floor exists solely as proof that women are impossible to please. Thank you for shopping at the Husband Store. Watch your step as you exit the building, and have a nice day!"

LIZARDS
If you have raised kids (or been one), and gone through the pet syndrome, including toilet flush burials for dead goldfish, the story below will have you laughing out loud!
Overview: I had to take my son's lizard to the vet. Here's what happened:
Just after dinner one night, my son came up to tell me there was "something wrong" with one of the two lizards he holds prisoner in his room. "He's just lying there looking sick," he told me. "I'm serious, Dad. Can you help?" I put my best lizard-healer expression on my face and followed him into his bedroom.
One of the little lizards was indeed lying on his back, looking stressed. I immediately knew what to do. "Honey," I called, "come look at the lizard!"
"Oh, my gosh!" my wife exclaimed. "She's having babies."
"What?" my son demanded. "But their names are Bert and Ernie, Mom!"
I was equally outraged. "Hey, how can that be? I thought we said we didn't want them to reproduce," I said accusingly to my wife.
"Well, what do you want me to do, post a sign in their cage?" she inquired. (I think she actually said this sarcastically!)
"No, but you were supposed to get two boys!" I reminded her, (in my most loving, calm, sweet voice, while gritting my teeth).
"Yeah, Bert and Ernie!" my son agreed.
"Well, it's just a little hard to tell on some guys, you know," she informed me. (Again with the sarcasm!)
By now the rest of the family had gathered to see what was going on. I shrugged,
deciding to make the best of it. "Kids, this is going to be a wondrous experience," I announced. "We're about to witness the miracle of birth."
"Oh, gross!" they shrieked.
"Well, isn't THAT just great? What are we going to do with a litter of tiny little lizard babies?" my wife wanted to know.
We peered at the patient. After much struggling, what looked like a tiny foot would appear briefly, vanishing a scant second later.
"We don't appear to be making much progress," I noted.
"It's breech," my wife whispered, horrified. "Do something, Dad!" my son urged.
"Okay, okay." Squeamishly, I reached in and grabbed the foot when it next appeared, giving it a gentle tug. It disappeared. I tried several more times with the same results.
"Should I call 911?" my eldest daughter wanted to know. "Maybe they could talk us through the trauma." (You see a pattern here with the females in my house?)
"Let's get Ernie to the vet," I said grimly. We drove to the vet with my son holding the cage in his lap. "Breathe, Ernie, breathe," he urged.
"I don't think lizards do Lamaze," his mother noted to him. (Women can be so cruel to their own young. I mean what she does to me is one thing, but this boy is of her womb, for God's sake.)
The vet took Ernie back to the examining room and peered at the little animal through a magnifying glass.
"What do you think, Doc, a C-section?" I suggested scientifically.
"Oh, very interesting," he murmured. "Mr. and Mrs. Cameron, may I speak to you privately for a moment?" I gulped, nodding for my son to step outside.
"Is Ernie going to be okay?" my wife asked.
"Oh, perfectly," the vet assured us. "This lizard is not in labor. In fact, that isn't EVER going to happen . . . Ernie is a boy. You see, Ernie is a young male. And occasionally, as they come into maturity, like most male species, they um . . . um . . . masturbate. Just the way he did, lying on his back. " He blushed, glancing at my wife.
We were silent, absorbing this. "So, Ernie's just . . . just . . excited," my wife offered.
"Exactly," the vet replied, relieved that we understood.
More silence. Then my vicious, cruel wife started to giggle. And giggle. And then even laugh loudly.
"What's so funny?" I demanded, knowing, but not believing that the woman I married would commit the upcoming affront to my flawless manliness.
Tears were now running down her face. "It's just . that . . . I'm picturing you pulling on its . . . its . . . teeny little . . .." She gasped for more air to bellow in laughter once more.
"That's enough," I warned. We thanked the vet and hurriedly bundled the lizard and our son back into the car. He was glad everything was going to be okay.
"I know Ernie's really thankful for what you did to help him, Dad,"he told me.
"Oh, you have NO idea," my wife agreed, collapsing with laughter.
Two lizards: $140.
One cage: $50.
Trip to the vet: $30.
Memory of your husband pulling on a lizard's winkie: Priceless!
Moral of the story: Pay attention in biology class. Lizards lay eggs.

FIRST DATE
On her first date... something embarrassing happened...
Jay Leno went into the audience to find the most embarrassing first date that a woman ever had.
The winner described her worst first date experience. There was absolutely no question as to why her tale took theprize!
She said it was midwinter...Snowing and quite cold...and the guy had taken her skiing in the mountains outside Salt Lake City , Utah . It was a day trip (no overnight). They were strangers, after all, and truly had never met before. The outing was fun but relatively uneventful until they were headed home late that afternoon.
They were driving back down the mountain, when she gradually began to realize that she should not have had that extra latte. They were about an hour away from anywhere with a rest room and in the middle of nowhere! Her companion suggested she try to hold it, which she did for a while.
Unfortunately, because of the heavy snow and slow going, there came a point where she told him that he had better stop and let her go beside the road, or it would be the front seat of his car. They stopped and she quickly crawled outbeside the car, yanked her pants down and started.
In the deep snow she didn't have good footing, so she let her butt rest against the rear fender to steady herself. Her companion stood on the side of the car watching for traffic and indeed was a real gentleman and refrained from peeking. All she could think about was the relief she felt despite the rather embarrassing nature of the situation.
Upon finishing however, she soon became aware of another sensation. As she bent to pull up her pants, the young ladydiscovered her buttocks were firmly glued against the car's fender.
Thoughts of tongues frozen to poles immediately came to mind as she attemptedto disengage her flesh from the icy metal. It was quickly apparent that she had a brand new problem due to the extreme cold. Horrified by her plight and yet aware of the humour of the moment, she answered her date's concerns about "what is taking so long" with a reply that indeed, she was "freezing her butt off"and in need of some assistance!
He came around the car as she tried to cover herself with her sweater and then, as she looked imploringly into his eyes, he burst out laughing. She too, got the giggles and when they finally managed to compose themselves, they assessed her dilemma.
Obviously, as hysterical as the situation was, they also were faced with a real problem. Both agreed it would take something hot to free her chilly cheeks fromthe grip of the icy metal! Thinking about what had gotten her into the predicament in the first place, both quickly realized that there was only one way to get her free.
So, as she looked the other way, her first-time date proceeded to unzip his pants and pee her butt off the fender. As the audience screamed in laughter, she took the Tonight Show prize hands down. Or perhaps that should be "pants down." And you thought your first date was embarrassing.
Jay Leno's comment..."This gives a whole new meaning to being pissed off." Oh, and how did the first date turn out? He became her husband and was sitting next to her on the Leno show.

Little Imps
I decided to share this little incident which happened on Teacher's Day.
Child care centre was closed and my mum had to babysit my niece and nephew. They came over early in the morning when I was about to leave home for work.
I joked with Charmaine and asked, "敏敏,要陪姑姑去做工吗?"
"不要!" Charmaine answered immediately.
"你可以站在旁边,姑姑会拿东西给你photostat" I continued.
Charmaine giggled and repeated, "不...要!"
Then I turned my attention to Ray and said, "弟弟,不然你跟姑姑去做工啦。"
Ray shook his head vigorously and giggled with Charmaine.
I turned back to Charmaine, "来啦,敏敏,快点陪姑姑去做工。"
Charmaine replied, "我会把你的东西弄乱!"
I said to Ray, "弟弟,走,快跟姑姑去做工。"
"我会把你的东西撕掉!" Ray said mischeviously.
。。。从头到尾,他们一直在笑。。。
Haha...dunno whether I ought to laugh or cry at their response...where did they learn all that from???

Korean Belle
I got into a debate with my colleague recently abt which Korean actress is pretty.
Limited by the K-dramas tat we have watched so far...we came to consensus that we like Choi Ji-woo 崔智友 and I personally find Kim Tae-hee absolutely gorgeous (both actresses acted in the K-drama "Stairways to Heaven"...their pictures are below:
Choi Ji-woo
Kim Tae-hee

Choi Ji-woo
Kim Tae-heeMaybe I am a little bias since Kim Tae-hee is Lee Wan's sister...Gorgeous siblings!
Anyway, the debate started when we touched on the topic about the main actresses:
Juhua 菊花 from Hearts of Nineteen "加油!菊花" (some know this as "十九岁的清纯")
VS
Jinshun 金顺 from Be Strong-Geum Soon "加油!金顺".
Both actresses in the dramas started off somewhat looking like country bumpkins but improved with the progression in the shows.
Just to prove tat beauty is in the eyes of the beholder and differs from person to person.
Let's vote!

Touching Tale
I just read one of the forwarded emails and was really TOUCHED by it. My fren asked why I did not cry after watching the video clip...I sound heartless? The fact tat I din cry doesnt mean I am not touched...rather tat the video gives me a lot of food for thought and plenty more to thank for in my life.
Here's the email and video clips...hope it touches u too and brings some enlightening into ur fortunate lives.
"A son asked his father, 'Dad, will you take part in a marathon with me?' The father who, despite having a heart condition, says 'Yes'. They went on to complete the marathon together.
Father and son went on to join other marathons, the father always saying 'Yes' to his son's request of going through the race together.
One day, the son asked his father, 'Dad, let's join the Ironman together.' To which, his father said 'Yes'. For those who didn't know, Ironman is the toughest triathlon ever. The race encompasses three endurance events of a 2.4 mile (3.86kilometer) ocean swim, followed by a 112 mile (180.2 kilometer) bike ride, and ending with a 26.2 mile (42.195 kilometer) marathon along thecoast of the Big Island. Father and son went on to complete the race together."

"SHA LE WO BA"!!! - Kill Me!!!
T_T sob sob...
I feel like dying...cry...I woke up this morning...and...was getting ready to go to work...and since its Friday, casual dressing....but...but...
I CAN'T FIT INTO MY FAVOURITE PAIR OF JEANS!!!!!!!!!!!!
*broke into fits of hysteria and sobbing non stop*
Too much 'bing-ing' on good food and no exercise is the culprit of my state right now. T_T
YAH, I know its my fault... *banging my head into the wall*
So, frens...I know u meant well when u call me to meet up for lunches, dinners and drinks...but I shall now restrict myself to a maximum of 1 such gathering per week (first come first serve).
Plus, I shall endeavour to do the following:
- no more junk food & tidbits for myself
- to skip breakfast whenever possible
- drink more plain water instead of other drinks
- weekday lunches shall encompasses soupy stuff and less starchy food
- try to go for at least 1 yoga class per week
Hopefully the result of the above will be a slimmer me with more savings too.
Wish me luck!

Working Behaviour
Lots of things have happened around me these past weeks.
Much as I find it boring to have the routine of working, gaming and sleeping...my time seems to be so packed lately tat I wished to have my routine back :P
Work seems to be picking up since I came back from my Vietnam trip... probably coincidental but my OT days are back again. Plus there are some changes at my workplace recently with colleagues leaving and new colleagues joining. So, lots of unrest and uneasy atmosphere at work.
Its also rather tiring to see the disharmony in the working system and how it is obviously affecting efficiency. No one takes the initiative to do anything and everyone seems to like playing the "tai-chi" game. Its funny how this type of people exist in every workplace I have been to, so it came as no surprise that it can also be found in my current workplace.
I remember a concept I have learnt in the past when I was working part-time in Pizza Hut where we were taught the "Clean as u go" practice. As the name implies, u clean up any mess that u see as fast as possible, no matter the cause. By doing so, we are able to create a pleasant dining experience for all customers. We dun go ard pointing fingers at our colleagues or trying to find out who created the mess but just go straight into rectifying the situation. Efficient right?
Then Sharon, my ex-superior and my favourite boss by far, taught me that we should always try to help colleagues when the solution is within our means. Sure, the matter might not be in our job scope or within our job duties, but if helping the person out would mean helping the person churn out or complete his/her task faster, isnt it a good thing? I am not saying that we should go ALL out to help others and in return neglect ur own tasks but just a lil help might mean so much to others.
But those are just views of mine and I guess we cant change the world nor everyone's mindset to make this world a better place. So, lets just hope for the best.
Besides work, I have been busy catching up with my frens. Meeting for dinners, drinks and chit chats have probably caused me a couple more kgs.....T_T......as if I am not fat enuff.....
It is also during these times when I hear abt others' problems tat I begin to reflect on my life again. Wat I want in future, blah blah and blah...the same outcome, I have no conclusion or answer.
Approaching the age of 30 next year, the usual questions tat pple will ask of a 30 year old woman are:
1) Do you have a boyfriend?
2) When are u getting married?
3) When are u having children?
Its like the stereotype fate of ALL WOMEN: Women must get married, have children and have family to be complete. And all women who doesnt do all tat will be left on the shelf and become spinsters. -_-
Gosh, when will this horrible stereotyping be eradicted? It doesnt mean tat marriage is a guarantee of future happiness, it only means two persons coming to live together and build a family together. Call me pessimistic or skeptical abt relationship, but seeing so many examples of failed relationships and marriages, its hard not to be so.
What everyone should remember when in a relationship is to love urself too. We normally get so caught up with loving our partners, children and family tat we somehow forgotten abt ourselves. We then revolve our whole life around them tat if and when they leave us (due to watever reasons), our whole world seems to fall apart.
From another angle, ask urself this:
Who is the person u spend the most time of ur life with???
Answer: URSELF!!!
So, if u dun care abt urself or take care of urself, who will?
NO, I am not asking everyone to be selfish bastards or bitches...but do love urself more.

My Updates
Haha...havent posted any entry for a month plus. Why? Well, mainly due to laziness and guess there really isnt much to update in my day to day life.
Since my last post in April, I have been mostly playing online games: Shaiya and MapleStory...Yes, I returned to Mapling! :)
Only found time to blog now becoz I am scanning the computer as I have been getting disconnected a lot when gaming.
Well, decided to post these pictures on my walk at Bukit Timah Nature Reserve with my fellow colleagues and their family on 1 May 2008 - Labour Day! Gosh, if not for the effort of my colleagues, especially Christina, think I will be too lazy to get up so early on Labour Day to go for the walk. Of coz must also thank Sharon and her hubby for the car ride. :)
(I am too lazy to edit the pictures and combine them like previously...so just enjoy viewing the big pics...LOL...)

More pictures will be coming up once I return from my upcoming trip to Hanoi, Vietnam! Yah, I am going on a firm's trip there this coming Fri, 23 May to Mon, 26 May. Not a holiday spot I will choose for myself but since it is sponsored by firm, just go la. Hope I can get used to the food there. I remember hating the taste of Vietnamese food when I tried it once previously. Hope tat was just bad cooking then :(
Will also find time to post my reviews on the following shows which I have finished watching:
- Get Karl! Oh Soo Jung 青蛙王子,拜金女
- Dalja's Spring 达子的春天
- Devil Beside You 恶魔在身边
- Hooping Dulcinea 斗牛,要不要
Well, till next time...bye! Back to Mapling le....keke....
