The Cat, The Pig & The Bean

Dread working today and had a hard time pulling myself out of bed and got ready for work.

As usual, my bro drove me to work and on the way, he mentioned that one of the Mr Bean soft toy is at the rear window area with the cats soft toys. When I looked, I saw the pig soft toy there too. So started this conversation:-

Me: Wat's the pig doing behind with the cats and the bean?

Goon: Nothing. Hey...say if the cat eats the pig, the pig eats the bean and the cat is afraid of the bean, and there is a long river. How do u get all 3 across the river when u can only bring at most 2 of them across at any 1 time?

Me: Slaughter the pig, cook and eat it. Bury the bean in the ground to grow a beanstalk. Once it grows, climb the beanstalk with the cat to get up in the sky and across the river. Can keep the cat as pet. But if its a lion, I will be running fast away from it.

Goon: SZB! Poison the bean and feed to the pig. Pig dies. Cook the pork and feed the cat. Cat dies. Bring dead cat across the river. Viola!

Me: Stupid boy, wat u wana do with a "dead" cat?

Goon: Nothing. Idea was just to bring them all across the river. Din mention wat stat they're in. Haha...

Me: Hmm, u have a point there...

    Interesting????

Anyway, MERRY CHRISTMAS to all of U!!!

    High Tea at Carlton Hotel

Went for High Tea at Cafe Vic - Carlton Hotel last Sunday, 16 Dec 2007.

    Carlton High Tea - 16.12.2007

I always love these makan sessions out with my bros when my parents are not around. Not tat i like to exclude my parents but they tend to grumble abt the cost of eating out and they will likely comment that the food is not nice and so on and so forth...rather a killjoy to my appetite when all I wan is to relax and enjoy the food.

Anyway, it was a oriental high tea buffet and the cafe even had a muffin making session for kids.

    Muffin Fun

After the muffin making session, I was just using my camera phone and randomly snapping photos...and I actually got Charmaine to pose a serious of photos which my bro helped to make into a sort of "九连拍"...its really cute...see:

    Charmaine-Collage

Seeing how unfair it is tat I din take pics for Ray, I decided to do up a "九连拍" for him using some of the old photos I have.

    Synopsis:-

"Shin Na Ra, a woman who is almost thirty welcomes her boyfriend of seven years back from his business trip. During their dinner, he tells her that he not only had an affair but fell in love with another woman. Thus their relationship is no more. To make herself feel better, Na Ra drank a large amount of alcohol and unknowingly dropped the ring her ex-boyfriend gave her into a random stranger’s cup. The stranger, In-Jae, drinks the shot without seeing the ring and both of them end up in the hospital.
To support herself, Na Ra pretends to be her 20 years old sister in order to work as a cosmetic clerk at Mi-Rae (the woman her ex-boyfriend fell in love with)’s shop but fate has brought In-Jae to the shop to. Thus began their surprising journey of love, where In-Jae is in love with Mi-Rae too." - extract from DramaWiki (with slight amendment)

I completed this show last night. Think wat attracted me to this show is the male lead...seen this guy acting in "加油金顺" previously and find him really charming. Splendid acting from him in this show as well.

RATING FOR SHOW: *** (out of 5 stars)

    Love Truly - 真的真的喜欢你

This show is really really touching. It protrays an impossible love between 2 individuals and another love which is selfless and self sacrificing that it melts the coldest heart.

    Love Truly

"Yeo Bong-Soon Eugene from a mountain village came to Seoul to live and look for her parents after her foster 'grandmother' passed away. She got a job as an assistant cook at the President's Blue House canteen and later in the Blue House kitchen. She falls for Jang Joon-Won Ryu Jin, the President's son, a highly intellectual doctor, who is married and his wife is suffering from dementia and has a five year old daughter. As Bong-Soon finds herself falling in love with Joon-Won, we also find a love triangle building up, when Bong-Ki, the President's family's bodyguard, starts to fall for the hillbilly Bong-Soon! The drama explores about how Bong-Ki played by Lee Min Ki got in touch with his own feelings and how Bong-Song's generosity makes these men fall for her." - extract from DramaWiki

When I started watching this show, I mistook the male lead and din know that actor Lee Min Ki is the lead....kept wondering why the story kept going to him and his annoying character (at the start he is an obnoxious and insensitive guy)....but as the story goes on, I started falling in love with his character and wat he does to protect the girls he loves. Couldnt keep myself from continuing this show despite the late nights I have to endure.

RATING FOR SHOW: **** (out of 5 stars)

    Yu Hee, the Witch

This show is currently showing on TV and in fact coming to the end (I think) but actually I finished watching it like almost a month plus ago. Was just too lazy to put up my review on blog.

    Yu Hee, the Witch

    The synopsis:-

"As the director of her father's advertising company, Ma Yoo Hee (Han Ga In) is known as a witch for her ruthless, no nonsense character. After a string of failed attempts to hire a housekeeper, she (literally) runs into Chae Moo Ryong (Jae Hee), ex-medical student turned aspiring chef. As a way to work off his debt for crashing into her car, he agrees to become her housekeeper and personal love affairs coach for one month. Gladly, he gives her a makeover that attracts both her old friend Johnny Kruger (Dennis Oh) and her first love Joon Ha (Kim Jeong Hoon). Despite having a girlfriend, Sung Mi (Jun Hye Bin), Moo Ryong eventually finds himself falling for Yoo Hee." - extract from DramaWiki

A rather light hearted and funny show which is definitely worth watching. I wont rate it as one of the best show I watched but I think its coz I dun feel much abt the male lead...in fact, I find Dennis much more attractive in the show. Sad when a supporting actor overshines the lead...hehe...

RATING FOR SHOW: *** (out of 5 stars)

As the title suggests, it seems tat I have been hearing a lot abt weddings lately. People ard me seems to be getting married 1-by-1, since October this year...maybe this few months are auspicious months.

Attended an afternoon wedding lunch - Grace's wedding actually...and got another wedding dinner next Sunday....like never ending wo....even the retailers are capitalizing on the "wedding" mood going ard.

Now to back track a bit on my entries...since I have not been updating often.

I went Xmas Shopping last Sat, 1 Dec 2007.

So glad I managed to drag Kim to join me. We started from Plaza Singapura and shopped all the way to Wisma Atria. Orchard Road is so crowded and the weather was pretty hot tat we gave up after we reach Takashimaya. By then, I only got 2 presents. Think I old liao, worn out pretty fast and I was glad to sit down at Starbucks and have a drink and rest.

After a long long rest, we set off for Suntec (which is still my favourite hangout) where I managed to locate a couple more xmas gifts ^^ ....such a fruitful shopping trip.

Kris joined us for dinner at Swiss Culture. The food there is great lah. Among all the restaurants on the top floor of Towers 1 and 2, Swiss Culture is fully seated, losing only to the Jap buffet restaurant at the corner. Look at the yummy food below....

    Clarke Quay-30Nov07_9

I told them to meet at this spot:

    Clarke Quay-30Nov07_10
"The Vertical Bungee Jump at Clarke Quay"

Do u know the spot? Very difficult to find meh? If ask u to meet me at the spot, would u know how to get there from Clarke Quay MRT?

Happened tat the 2 "bo-bos" (Gwen and Leo) din know how to....Zzzzzz......end up have to all meet in the MRT instead.

We had dinner at the Lotus Grill Restaurant at Clarke Quay. They have indoor seating plus some seats in the boats! Rather interesting to dine in a boat...feeling the slight breeze and the bit of rocking...keke...they serve oriental food...quite good but a bit expensive. $140+ for 4 persons...wat do u think?

    Clarke Quay-30Nov07_7

Then we had a stroll along Clarke Quay and I took some pics with my not so good resolution handphone...hehe....training to be a good blogger...but then, made me look like a tourist there.

while Gwen's and mine look like "puke"/"vomit" T_T. Lucky it they taste ok. LOL!

It was a rather relaxing and fun dinner. Must try to get out more I guess.

    24 Nov 2007

Its been almost a year since me and my SIM schoolmates had a gathering. With everyone working and some still doing their part-time studies, its no wonder tat we hardly have time to spare.

So it came as no surprise that the final turnout was only 7 of us. Our host did a splendid job with the array of food we had. Yummy! (yes, me the lousy blogger forgot to take pics..haiz...)

After dinner, we sat in front of the TV and enjoyed some wine, chatting, tv...and karaoke session. It was pretty fun tat time flew...before we noticed, it was late and we decided to stay over. Our host very good lah...got those sofas which can convert into relaxing chairs sort. Very comfy for short naps. But I din sleep a wink!

    Birthday Duo - 18 Nov 2007

We had a simple birthday celebration at home for my eldest bro and cousin. Of coz it still pretty much felt like Ray's and Charmaine's birthdays instead.

    Dreams Vs Reality

Finally managed to convince myself to blog tonight...its not tat I have nothing to blog abt...its more like I am lazy...yes, lazy :P

This will be another pictureless entry, but by no means is it boring.

We all know wat dreams are right? We can definitely differentiate a dream from reality. But have u ever encountered a dream tat is SOOOO REAL, tat it brings the goosebumps out from u?

I promised to give Kim a ride (actually my bro drove lah) last Friday morning. So, I made sure I set the alarm clock early.

So on Friday, I woke up at 6am plus to find my bro and dad getting ready to leave. Then my bro said to me that he needs to bring my dad to see a chinese sinseh. Feeling a little pissed at having to break my promise to Kim, I gave her a call and told her tat she have to arrange her own transport tat morning. Kim sounded a little unhappy at tat.

Then I crashed down into my bed again and fell fast asleep. Lazy me...next time I heard is my mum calling me to wake up. "Its late already, wake up!"....."Wake up! Its really late!"

Suddenly I jolt awake! Wat had happened was a dream!

The feeling then was pretty amazing...coz everything had seemed so real, almost as if they really happened. But then, I got up in time to get ready and we picked Kim up according to plan.

Dream vs Reality...cant differentiate sometimes :P (hmm...or issit coz I am piggy?)

    Maple Gathering??! - 10 Nov 2007

I went for my first real life gathering with my maple frens last Sat! Its such a rare occasion tat frenz whom u met online can gather and meet face to face.

Yeah, of coz one might feel shy or awkward meeting pple u seem to know so well in game but havent even seen in real life. But after u get past tat shyness, its actually kinda fun to get to know these frens. ^^

[The following entry might not make sense to some of my frens...so u can skip this post if u wish :P ]

Hey, guys and gals of KaBisH! It was great getting to know all of u.

So, 12 of us met up to go for BBQ Steamboat dinner at Marina Bay. It was funny meeting each of them:

Siren was the first to arrive (and the only one who arrive before me...and I tot I was early...keke)...the boy who called me "mouse shyt" (dun understand...well, we play a dancing game "Audition" and I basically sux at it and lian lei the whole team...get it now? Lao Shu Shi). He's the tallest of the group tat day....din know a 17 year old boy can grow as tall as 1.8m these days...keke...

Blur and Shaby came next...those 2 really look like a couple lah...and Blur looks a bit chao lau, more like a poly student and older than Siren. Shaby looks rather sweet and cute, I cant connect her with the "guai lan" girl I know online...hahaha....Ah Boi (aka Sam) came with them but he was really shy lah, keep quiet and hid in a corner...think I disturb him too much tat night...was only teasing, hope he dun feel offended :P

Then came Dark (aka Gwen)...ok this one nothing to tell...meet her so many times I "ba" liao.

The "4 princess" arrived shortly after: DD, Sea, Steph and Bryan (!!! why is Bryan a princess??? No idea, DD said they are princess de...not me...haha). Teenages are so shy these days...lucky they came in a group or they might feel even more shy and awkward. Other than Bryan, the 3 girls kept more to themselves tat night...think they dunno how to talk to us oldies T_T ...oldies also humans mah!!! Just talk lor....Anyway, I had fun making fun and teasing DD tat night....she soooooo cute.......ok, I AM NOT LESBIAN!!! I just find her cute lah...she is not as tomboy as I thought and in fact can be pretty if she bothers to dress up. I managed to recognize her when they arrived, so I guess not to drastically different from her pics.

The funniest is Leo...our guild Old Man. Just before he arrived, I warned the kids that they might be shocked to see Leo coz he looks really different from wat we all imagine and definitely not like his maple character (I have seen his pic in Friendster before ma). But all of them laughed when they saw him....SO BAD!!! Give the Old Man some respect ma....HAHAHA....ya lah, very funny...coz he look so "Si Wen" lor....I know him as the Lau Beng in maple and turn out looking like a nerd....cannot imagine lah...hahahaa....and he has tattoo and smokes wo....dun look like at all! Ah Leo, show me ur "ang gong" leh.....NO, I dun wana see ur butt!!! Dun lie and say the "ang gong" is on ur butt.... -_

Last to arrive is RY....met her before too so no surprise there...but real glad she came coz she and Dark kept each other company.

BBQ Steamboat was not a huge success becoz of the initial mess (I din know must take the coupon, pay, get plates, then can take food....too long never eat steamboat le lah...CANNOT BLAME ME!!!!), a lot of oil splashing, hot weather and I think the food is not to everyone's taste. SORRY! Next time no more BBQ Steamboat gathering k.....we find somewhere cleaner and with aircon. However, we did have moments of laughing and jokes....so it was still considered a success for a FIRST meeting.

After dinner, some of us went for a drink (but we could only find enuff seats in Burger King) and did some chit chats. Tats when all the cold/lame jokes started....aiyo, think I really old le....DD started telling jokes and I think more than 1/2 the time, I am staring at her blankly. I catch no ball at all!!!! OMG!!!! T_T .....she need to like explain it a few times, then I get it....zzzzzzz....jialat....cannot connect frequency. Later Bryan joined in sharing his jokes, which is slightly easier to understand...but then I mostly spaced out by then....LOL! Mind rejecting cold/lame jokes. Think the funniest joke was Leo's abt his ex-classmate's drooling episode...haha....most practical and easy to understand real life joke....

All in all, it was a fun gathering lah. Now at least I have a face to put to those maple characters. Of coz there are more maple frens whom I have yet to meet...but all in good time ba. Really hope all will join in the Xmas gathering though.

    MAPLESTORY ROCKS!!!!

    Night scenes in Singapore

Went out with Gwen on the eve of Deepavali coz I was feeling really bored of late and decided its time to take a walk and breathe in the life of pple ard. Plus, its a great opportunity to bring Gwen to look at the nightlife in Singapore...which she has not gotten the chance do.

My initial plan was to meet her in Raffles Place and bring her to walk from Boat Quay to Clarke Quay then to Mohammed Sultan. Lucky we din do tat...coz my feet hurt like hell tat night. Vain me decided to wear my boots out even though I knew I had planned walking ard...LOL!

So, we ended up having a quick dinner at Raffles City, City Hall and took a bus down to Clarke Quay directly. Boy has the place changed!

    Wedding Vs Reunion

    Time flies, its already November...

I am late in posting this entry...duh wat else is new...lol....again, I din take any pics at Sherelyn's wedding with my hp and instead got pics from Su???

Yes, yes...I am a lousy blogger...even with my camera enabled phone, I am still lazy to take pics. As the chinese saying goes "a leopard never changes its spots". I shall just graciously admit tat I am truly lazy. :P

So, we went to Sherelyn's wedding on Saturday, 27 October 2007.

It was a totally affair from the wedding I attended earlier this month (see my earlier entry on "Ex-colleague's Wedding" ). Sherelyn's wedding was a cozy and heart-warming event...at least to all who knows her and the groom and wishes them a blissful marriage.

    PA270246

The wedding was held at the Grand Plaza Parkroyal and they had abt 30 tables of family, friends and colleagues. As both the bride and groom are from IPTO, I see mostly familiar faces there...keke. It felt more like a reunion with ex-colleague to me.

Real glad too see ALL OF U k!!!

Wishing the couple once again A VERY BLISSFUL MARRIAGE!

    My PSP!

I bought my very own PSP last Sat! This term might be alien to some pple but it is a familar term for all gamers.

    PSP = Playstation Portable!

Its amazing how technology evolve...last time pple play games like 5-stones, zero-point...then pple went on to board games like Monopoly, snake & ladders, chess...after tat computer games took over. With the computer age came the introduction of Nintendo, Gameboy, Playstation...amazing! Then just as how PCs improve from Pentium I to II to III and onwards, Playstation 2 came out, then X-BOX came in to have a bite in the games market.

Now, there is sooo many options for gamers that we are really spoilt for choice. Playstation 3, X-BOX 360, Wiis...and handheld games like PSP and DS-Lite.

    INFORMATION OVERLOAD!!!

Keke....anyway I am extremely happy with my PSP....travelling to/from work is no longer boring...hehe!!!

    Ex-colleague's Wedding

Went to an ex-colleague's (one of the LA who left our firm recently) wedding last Sat, 6 Oct 2007.

It was a grand affair which was held at Swissotel the Stamford and they actually have about 80 tables in the ballroom! Sigh....rich pple is like that one.....think they want "face", so have to hold a really GRAND event to announce the wedding. But I think the plan backfired on them. Coz sadly, the tables were barely filled up with quite a number of them with only 4 to 6 attendees.

Gosh, the wastage of food at those tables is really heart-wrenching when u think about pple who are starving.

Anyway, my colleagues were snapping photos like crazy...and so I uploaded some of them below. Decided not to name my colleagues just in case they dun care to have their photos on my blog...hahaha....can u spot me in 2 of the pics?
