RECAP - TRIP TO GENTING (Part 3)

Another beautiful morning, but it was a bit misty. As wat Su like to say, there were clouds flying ard us. However, I like to correct her and said tat those are mountain mists...haha


Anyway, we were due to leave Genting in the afternoon, so we tot to enjoy ourselves for the morning before we need to check out at 12nn. It was a whole morning of crazy fun at the outdoor theme park...never have I rode on so many types of roller coasters before: Corkscrew (not as scary as it looks, but thrilling), Flying Dragon and a smaller scale one (forgot the name of the ride). We also played Go-Kart...however, the tracks there is amazingly flat, not as exciting as the one at Escape Theme Park in Spore. The most fun was the Space Shot! It looked scary when the thing drops from way up high and starts jerking the pple up and down...but when u sit on it...its actually not tat scary...it was very fun - a must try if u are there!

We ended our rides early as some rides are under maintenance and upgrade (wat a disappointment!). Had plenty of time after checking out of hotel to continue shopping...but alas! My bag's strap broke at tat moment and I had to handcarry both my bags plus a stool tat I bought for my niece. It was so difficult to walk ard w all my baggage tat I decided to stay put at the cybercafe to play MapleStory while Su goes shopping on her own. Haha...good excuse huh? Well, tats when I posted the msg on the blog on 14 May...hehe

We boarded the coach back to S'pore at abt 2pm plus, only set off at 3pm plus...and its was another long tiring journey. Bye bye le, Genting!!!

RECAP - TRIP TO GENTING (Part 2)

Woke up to a beautiful sunrise this morning. Was brushing my teeth and admiring the view when I suddenly remembered tat I shld take a photo...ah...too bad, I missed the "half" sunrise...tat was even cooler...but this is nice too :)

Plans for the day? Shopping in KL! Although it seems weird tat within a short 3 days trip, we actually squeezed KL in our itinerary but well, wat else are we to do in Genting? We dun gamble..and the rest of the rides we are gg to take on Sunday morning. So, we head down to take the "Skyway" which is the cable car.

Also my first time taking cable car...so many of my "first"s in this trip...keke...the cable car ride was a little bumpy but it was still an experience. When we reached the bottom of mountain, we headed for the bus station. We were waiting for the lift and Su was telling me abt some strange occurrences the previous night. While I was fast asleep, she heard sounds of furnitures moving and of coz...the TV...she din turn it off...nor did I...spooky huh? While we were in the middle of a discussion of this, the lift came and we entered the lift...I was making my last comment tat if there was "anything" in our room last night, its probably harmless coz I slept well. Then I turned ard and a Malay girl was in the lift w us. Shocked! There was no one in the lift when we entered...spooky! Got quite a big scare...she exited the lift after saying tat she wanted to go up and not down. Then I turned to Su and asked, "Did u see her coming in?". Su's answer..."No". Spooky!

The shopping trip was nice.

Nothing much to elaborate on this...it was just shopping, shopping and more shopping before we had to head back to Genting in case we miss the last bus.

By the time we got back up the high mountains, we were starving. Was excited to try a buffet dinner but it turned out to be a flop. One word to describe the food - LOUSY!

For the night, we finally went to visit the casino! First time into a casino...haha..another first. Actually, I wasnt really impressed by the casino. Din really understand the games too...shows there is no way I can become a gambler...keke.

Then, we headed to the pub for a drink but sad, no seats available for us. They hv this live band and thus the pub was pretty crowded.

We went to Starbucks instead for a cup of delicious Chocolate Frappe and cheesecake. A really satisfying supper snack. We were really amazed tat by past 12mn, the place is still buzzling w pple and most shops were still open. Dun those pple need to sleep??? And guess wat I discovered while purchasing our drinks at Starbucks? I saw pple playing MapleStory at the cybercafe next door. My fingers were itching then...haha

RECAP - TRIP TO GENTING (Part 1)

Hiyee!!! Missed me??? Ok, maybe all of u might hv given up on me coz I hvnt been regular in my updates. I promised to change k, so pls do drop in once in a while to take a look.

As mentioned in my last post, I went to Genting for the first time in my life with Su from 12 May to 14 May. A short R&R trip, just wat I needed to re-energize! Below is a recap on my trip (Part 1)...

Oh god! I woke up late tat morning, at 6.50am!!! Was supposed to meet Su @ Kovan MRT at 7am and our coach was scheduled to set off at 7.30am. Wow! 1st time I got ready in 10 mins and luckily mum woke dad up to drive me, so still managed to meet Su and boarded the coach in time.


Then our long torturous journey started, with my stiff neck still bugging me (Yes! I havent fully recovered from my stiff neck then...T_T ).

There seems to be a no. of mountainous regions in Pahang (where Genting is in), and I was constantly thinking "Is this Genting?" Haha...but I guess once u hv been up there, u wouldnt miss it.


We reached First World Hotel at abt 3.30pm and although we hv booked our rooms in advance, we still had to queue up for our keys. Lucky they hv abt 20+ counters open to service the large holiday crowd. Haha...guess everyone wana make full use of this longer weekend (or at least I shld say quite a lot of S'poreans lah).

After freshening up in our rooms and taking a few photos, we went to explore ard.


I was quite impressed by the variety of shops there...seems more like a shopping mall actually, of coz with the exception tat there is an indoor entertainment centre. We decided to take the rides before we hv our dinner (coz I was afraid I might throw up my dinner if I had it 1st...hehe...). Though I din take many roller coasters ride before, the indoor roller coaster "Euro Express" was quite fun. It wasnt tat scary, which is why I do not understand all the screaming, but it was fun...Su and I was like laughing all the way when we took it the first time. The 2nd time on it was hilarious! Coz a hysterical lady sat behind us and was screeching like a banshee all thru the ride! Hahaha...funny just thinking abt it.

Another memorable ride is the monorail or the "Beetle" as I call it...might sound slow and boring but it brought us to the outer perimeters of the entertainment park. See how cute the Beetle is!!!


An indoor gondola ride opened our eyes to more things in the shopping mall.

Our poor gondola man and his gondola frens...did u know they work 24/7? Wonder how their pay is like??? :P

We had our dinner at Kenny Rogers, it was as expected, better than the Kenny Rogers in S'pore. Nice full dinner and we had wanted to go to the casino but coz Su was carrying digital cam, we decided to go back to our rooms to rest first. We had all these plans to visit the casino then to go drink at z pub but guess wat? I KO-ed when watching TV back in our room. Woke up only at 12mn plus and tot its was too late to go anywhere...plus I saw tat Su was asleep as well...but I woke her up to take off her contact lens before sleeping. And she asked an interesting qs: Did u switched off the TV? And I replied no...she didnt either... ... ...

Looking forward to FUN weekend!

So happy today...coz I am gg to Genting/KL with Su tomorrow. We had planned this trip almost last minute...ok lah, abt 3 weeks ago. Everything is set and now its just waiting for tomorrow morning to set off :)

Sure, I will miss my maplestory but I hope this trip will be worth it. Since this will be my first trip to Genting (yes, 27 yrs old and I have never been to Genting), I hope it will be a new experience and tat I will like the place as much as Perth...ok, almost as much as Perth.

Well, will update this blog again when I am back on Sunday! ;)

THE STIFF NECK SYNDROME RETURNS

I know I havent updated my blog in some time, so frens, pls do not be disappointed. Well, if u wana know, I got my retribution by having my stiff neck syndrome returned...it happened on last wed morning when my neck suddenly felt a certain vein pull quite painfully...then I knew it! Its back!

Well, I went to work as usual on wed but could not endure it and decided to take a 1/2 day leave. And since I was going to take leave last Friday initially to have my hair cut, I decided to use the 1/2 day leave on wed to cut my hair instead. Think it was a horrible choice...I know my hair was messy and long but the torture of having to wash my hair abt 4 times...dun think its worth it. My hair is now shorter and straight and w a nice fringe (I did not keep a fringe since my secondary school days) but at a huge expense of enduring pain throughout the 4 hours in the hair salon. Anyway, the only consolation is tat I do like my new hairstyle.

Then, my stiff neck persists and I went to see a doc last Thursday, got a 2 days MC (which means I was on holiday from last Thursday till today, Labour Day) but din get a much needed jab which might relief my pain. I did finally get a jab last Sat but it din help much...so here I am with the annoying stiff neck still bothering me...hope it goes away soon...and dun find its way back....sniff....sniff....
