The "Ha-Han" wind is blowing in Asia and almost everyone is crazy over the Korean Dramas which are on TV, SCV and DVD/VCD. Myself included of course ^_
Remember the popular drama "Da Chang Jin"? The show features a diligent and hardworking girl growing up as a palace maid and her amibition to be the Top Chef in the palace. But due to some scheming *!)%$^* in the palace, she was being framed and forced out of the palace, only to return as a Medicine Woman thereafter...and blah blah blah...its on repeat on Sat and Sunday evenings now from 7.30pm, so catch it if u are interested.
Anyway, not unlike most modern teenagers, Ah Poop and Whiny also get hooked to K-dramas. This day, Ah Poop was getting bored and decided to dress himself up...
What a fantastic get-up! Ah Poop, really pleased with his creativity for coming up with his new look, started reciting lines from Da Chang Jin.
"Hahaha!!!!" Whiny laughed loudly at the sight of Ah Poop..."Bro, dun u think u look really sissy like tat? Hahahaha...." Looking into the mirror, Ah Poop cracked up laughing together with Whiny. "Let me try! Let me try!" Whiny started whining...
The 2 of them had so much fun role-playing that they even took a pic together as memory...look at this! Aint they cute??!!! ^^

Artistic Night Out
Went out with a few colleagues last Friday for dinner at Esplanade coz Sha was craving for Japanese food. We decided upon the Japanese restaurant, Ichiban, where they served pretty nice food...except a little pricey.
Take a look at this...
and this...
U might be thinking that the dishes look plain, right??? Haha...take one more closer look at the 2 dishes...and see if u can make out wat they are...
They are actually LEFTOVERS!!! Which I have take it upon myself to arrange and make them look like actual food good enuff to serve...LOL!!!
How did it come abt? Well, we had this big bowl of ice which they had used to serve sashimi and after we had finished our food, we were talking abt the possibility of the restaurant re-using this bowl of ice. I din quite like the idea and decided to "break the ice" and make it non-recycleable. So, I was hacking into the ice with my chopsticks and soon Helen was joining in. Haha...I remember the looks we got from the patrons on the next table...boy we had a good laugh then! Wats more amazing is that I managed to design 2 dishes from the ice and leftovers and they look so good that I asked Kah Wai to take pics...hehe...such an artistic creation in an artistic environment such as the Esplanade.
After dinner, we decided to take a walk to digest the food. We went up to the rooftop for a look around the place. And we noted this piece of art hang across the rooftop - 4 rows of fabric blowing in the wind. Isnt it pretty?
The 4 of us then gave our own interpretation of the art, and as u know, different pple see art in different ways.
Kah Wai - "Ah, wats the name of the Japanese fish?...Oh yah, Koi...tat look like Koi fishes swimming ard..." (for your info, those fabrics are mostly redish and orangy in colour)
Sha - "I thought it looks more like waves, can even imagine the sound of waves"
Helen - "They look like kites to me, they are so colourful"
Me - "Hmm...no lah, they are laundry being put out to dry..." (followed by loud laughters from all 4 of us ^^ )
After the 2 bolts of creative and artistic moments, we decided to do something more natural to youngsters then deciphering Arts...KARAOKE!!! We have a born singer in our group...HELEN!!! U should hear her powerful voice...lovely...definitely the best singer among ALL my frens (Frens, dun be jealous k...I am speaking the truth here).
Our artistic night out ended with the Karaoke, which though isnt an artistic program, still did wonders to kick start a weekend. :)

English Lesson on Tropical Fruits
Ever wondered whether the names of the fruits u eat are in English or otherwise?
On Tuesday, I was eating this fruit known to me as Ba Lu Gu (as I learnt from my parents that tat's the fruits name since I was young). Then, on my way to work, I asked myself what is the English name for this fruit...cracked my brain and I still could not find an answer. When I reached office, I started asking my colleagues and our conclusion is that this fruit has no English name. And that the name of this fruit is actually "Buh Duku" in Malay language. Interesting huh? As this is tropical fruit and grown in some countries only, think there is no English name given to it. We continued with discussion on other fruits as well...
Buh Duku - Malay Word
Longan - Malay Word
Rambutan - Malay cum English Word
Durian - Malay cum English Word
As for Lychee, we couldnt decide between Malay or Cantonese word...coz it could hv been both.
Now, start wondering what is the English name of the fruits u eat next time...

Introducing "183 Poohs"
We had a few additions to the Pooh Family in my office some time back (I was slow in putting up the picture here). A Red and another Baby blue T-Shirt Poohs. So our Pooh Family now includes:
Baby Blue Tee Pooh - Ah Bloop
Baby Pink Tee Pooh - Whiny
Yellow Tee Pooh - Ah Poo
Red Tee Pooh - Redish
Green Tee Pooh - Ah Poop
But what's more amazing is the stark resemblance of the 5 Poohs to the 183 Club. See their coloured T-Shirts to see which 183 Club members they resemble. So now, the Poohs have new names:
The 183 Poohs
YR Pooh (Huang Yu Rong in Yellow)
XS Pooh (Yan Xing Shu in Pink)
FG Pooh (Zu Fan Gang in Blue)
MD Pooh (Ming Dao in Green)
SW Pooh (Wang Shao Wei in Purple/Red as in Pooh)
And as expected, now MD Pooh is my favourite Pooh and sits at my desk all the time. ^^
Although 183 Poohs have new names now, my colleagues insist on calling the Baby Blue Pooh as Hady coz Hady's fan wore BLUE during the finals of Singapore Idol. Well, guess its up to them...as long as they dun change my MD Pooh...hahaha...ITS MINE! ITS MINE! ITS MINE!

Another of my favourite song by 183 Club...its from the soundtrack of Wang Zi Bian Qing Wa (The Prince Who Turns into Frog). Enjoy ^^

Applause to Ah Poop Scissors Hand!
(Does anyone remember the classic movie "Edward Scissors Hand"? Well, this is a deadly resemblance...read on...)
Ah Poop was having his time alone away from his siblings and was deeply immense in watching the movie "Edward Scissors Hand". He was thoroughly enjoying the show and was grinning to himself from time to time.
At the end of the movie, Ah Poop got 2 scissors and practised his cutting skills using the 2 scissors simultaneously. What fun he had! Imagining himself as Edward Scissors Hand...in fact, he called himself "Ah Poop Scissors Hand"
"Snap! Snap! Snap" the scissors made rapid sounds that made its way all the way down the corridor. Ah Poo who was having his nap awoke from the noise and was really irritated, "Wait till I get my hands on whomever is making tat noise!" So Ah Poo followed the sound and saw Ah Poop snapping away happily. "Ah Poop! Will u stop that!!! I am trying to sleep." Ah Poo complained impatiently.
At that moment, Ah Poop turned ard and with his demonic eyes, he stared at his brother intently. It was as if some evil forces had taken over Ah Poop, he raised his scissors and went straight for Ah Poo's thin neck. OMG!
Ah Poo cried and plead away with his brother, not to cut his neck. Still in a shock as to wat happened to Ah Poop, he obeyed Ah Poop's instruction and lied down on the floor flat. Before Ah Poo can blink his eyes, he saw Ah Poop's big fat butt coming right down on his face!
"Mwahaha....I won! I won!" Ah Poop cheered. Then, both brothers heard a ringing sound coming from the kitchen. "Ring! Ring!"...and Whiny called out "Its dinner time!!!" Finally, Ah Poop awoke from his stance and wondered confusingly abt wat just happened. Not knowing that he is sitting on his brother, Ah Poop made his way to his dining table...leaving POOR Ah Poo crying on the floor in misery...Boo...Hoo...Hoo...

Corrrrn Sooouppppp.....T_T
Let me tell u abt the nightmare corn soup ~~~ shiver...
Like all housewives and homemakers, my mum has the responsibility to prepare sumptous meals for us. It naturally becomes a headache to her that she have to come up with new menus now and then, and maybe even create a few new dishes. I do understand the difficulty of doing so, and do indeed appreciate the effort she had put in. THANKS, MUM!!!
Well, another of my mum's trait is that whenever she cook something new, she would ask for feedback as to whether the food is nice. Wanting feedback is of coz good, we all know that...but one must remember NEVER to tell my mum that u like a certain food! Why??? Coz, if u were to tell her that u like the food, or even just say that it taste nice ('nice' being such an ambiguous word), u will end up eating the same food for the days that follow (perhaps until another good replaces it).... '~'
This was proven previously,
1)The "Water-cress soup" that my bro drinks...he ate the water-cress veg and said its not bad...and wala....we saw Water-cress soup on our table at least once every week.
2)Japanese fried chicken bites tat we can buy from supermarket and just need to deep fry. It appeared on our table abt two or more times a week...until now, at the thought of it, I feel like puking...
Need more examples??...think not...makes me wana puke more...
Recently, my mum had been slacking at her cooking...been cooking really simple meals since she is more busy with going to fetch my niece from childcare and running to help out in the RC. Simple meals are fine...in fact, simple meals that are forgettable (ie. u dun remember wat u ate after u ate it) are good. But, OMG!!! I see CORN SOUP for dinner for abt 4 times a week lately!!!!...and sometimes, this is accompanied by the not-so-tasty stir-fried long beans which my niece love. Yes! All this is becoz my niece love the CORN SOUP and long beans... T_T
Please....save me....now, whenever I reach home and start getting ready for dinner, I fear to open the soup pot's lid...I am mortally afraid T_T
WHAT IF IT IS CORN SOUP AGAIN???!!!!!!!!
