    Missing Trails

I have not been updating my blog since end of 2007 to-date. Why? Really interested tp know?

It was like a repeat of my nightmare the previous year (2006) when I got really sick during the Christmas period with flu which later led to some lung infection thingy...even went A&E for tat...here's the link to my entry then:

    "Flashback on a Sick Ending"

My year 2007 crossover to 2008 was pretty similar to that. I came down with flu before Christmas and was struggling with it thru Christmas and only went to consult a doctor after tat. So the flu got so bad it took much longer to recover....such tat I was still sick on 1 Jan 2008. Terrible way to start the new year. Thereafter, it was busy busy busy at work coz my colleague and boss took leaves in turns and the work was just piling up....or maybe they stacked up coz I was slacking at work during this holiday season... :P

I started this entry on 19 Jan 2008 and now its been a week (ie. 27 Jan 2008) since and I'm still struggling to complete it...trying helplessly to recall my past weeksssss for updates here but my mind suddenly just came to a blank....now wat? My blog is "doomed"??? No worries, shall go by chronological order and try to recap my life back to Dec 2007.

    Past 2 days (25 - 26 Jan 2008)

CNY is approaching, it seems like everyone is getting out there to grab watever they could. Me included.

I met up with Amrita on Friday for just a simple dinner at Spageddies...had always wanted to try the food there and I was definitely not disappointed. We shared Prawn Fettuccine Neapolitan and Crayfish Parmigiana there and they were delicious!

Then we decided to walk off the food by went shopping...bought some scents from Bodyshop and 3 tops from Dorothy Perkins. My purse bled... ...

Yesterday, I was dragged out of bed by Kim. She called me early in the morning and said tat she wanted to get her ears pierced -_ (its amazing how she perservered despite trying so many times and having the earholes closed so many times). So, I got my lazy ass out of bed and accompanied her down to Tampines. Cant say tat I was sorry to be out there walking, at least it felt more alive than being stuck at home...hmm, come to think of it, I have been feeling very alive lately...been busy running ard and meeting frens....havent been mapling for weeks or months already :P

Anyway, spent a bomb there as well...got myself a pair of pants and a top from IORA. This boutique always have clothes tat I can fit in. But I guess the only problem there is tat u will probably see some stranger wearing the same pattern/style of clothes as u on the street. It is too popular among working ladies in Singapore. I also got myself a Sapphire heart-shape necklace.

Shall stop my shopping spree for this few months...my purse bled enuff...for now...hehe!

Lunch Buffet at Straits Kitchen, Grand Hyatt (19 Jan 2008)

Finally the gathering with the ex-IPTO frens of mine happened! After failing so many attempts to plan a visit to Helen's hometown, we decided to just meet up for lunch and some catching up. Su couldnt make it though coz of her work schedule...nvm join in next time k, Su!

Lunch buffet was a great idea, the food was nice and conversation flow was entertaining. Sha picked the Straits Kitchen at Grand Hyatt coz the food there is Halal and I would say its a rather good choice except tat it is pricey.

Of coz the gathering din just end at the lunch buffet, we went shopping at Paragon and later head towards Takashimaya. Bad choice though coz its nearing CNY and the shopping crowd was rather scary. Pple were walking everywhere, heading in all directions and my head quickly felt heavy, eyes blurry and I started feeling dizzy and queasy. We had to head for a drink at Delifrance to avoid walking in the crowds. Must remind myself never to challenge myself to shop along Orchard Road on the weekends ever again. Positively hate it!

I headed home without any purchases tat day and even reached home by evening...rather amazing.

    Puking Episode (18 Jan 2008)

Met up with Amrita for dinner. Its been very long since I last saw her. Missed her plenty. Think I have been an awful fren...havent been diligently contacting my frens and getting updates on how they have been doing.

She had been weak on health and wasnt feeling too well when we met tat night. Started complaining abt having headaches even before we decided on where to eat.

So it came as no surprise tat halfway thru our dinner at Ichiban Sushi, she started feeling nauseous. Had no choice but to pack up, hop in a cab and head home. Luckily I decided to send her home coz though she tried hard to control it, she puked in the cab and all over herself...poor girl....amazingly she din dirty the cab except for the seatbelt.

Got quite a scare from her though...not everyday I get to see pple puke first-hand...LOL! Oops...tat is evil...she's my good fren... :P

    Arcade Fun (6 Jan 2008)

Had a simple pre-bdae celebration at home with my family as usual. Jesline ordered a delicious chocolate cake from online...must remember to get the website address from her one of these days.

Then we went out in the afternoon to shop at Compass Point. Just a simple shopping trip but it was fun at the arcade with the kids. First time I went to arcade with Ray and Charmaine, they were really cute! Got some pics of Ray here:

    X'mas 2007 (23 Dec 2007)

Wonder if I am purely torturing myself by organizing this yearly family celebration. We're not Christians or Catholics but yet my family celebrates Christmas coz I told them tat we shld all gather during this festive season to have a meal and exchange presents.

So, this year instead of ordering the Christmas feast from Prima Deli (which is wat we did for the past 2 years), we decided tat we shld prepare our own Christmas lunch!

    Xmas Feast

Besides the "too watery mushroom soup", "slightly charred roast chicken" and the "super tough bread", think the lunch went alright. We all had our fills at least.

Below are other photos I took of our Christmas....
